Lessons are generally scheduled for either a half-hour or an hour, once a week, on weekday afternoons or evenings in Carney. These can be either Suzuki format (following the lesson/technique/song order in the Suzuki Violin School books - I recommend this for beginners) or can be of a more traditional scales/etudes/solo structure (primarily for intermediate and adult students). If a student has an interest in Celtic-style (Irish) fiddling or similar, we can tailor some of the instruction to meet those needs once s/he gets past the basics.
Group lessons can also be arranged, especially if there are multiple students in an area who are interested in studying violin. These are done in primarily a Suzuki format, but I generally use supplemental materials and introduce fingering and note reading during the second half of Book I. There is a minimum requirement of 3 students per class and a maximum of 8; classes are 40-minutes long and can be scheduled either once or twice a week. If there are others in your area who are looking for a violin teacher, this may be something you want to pursue; the cost per student is lower, and students generally advance fairly quickly as they listen to and support each other in the classes.
